We have just received the Mapiful poster we created to decorate the wall in our bathroom! I love it!
As we moved to our new house in March, we are still in the process of decorating each room. Last week I got some inspiration for our bathroom! I bought a little plant for the fireplace and I created a custom Mapiful poster representing the area we leave: the Solent ! This great navigation area we have here between the coast and Isle of Wight! (My husband is a big fan of sailing and I am still trying to learn!). Therefore our poster is a symbol of our new life in England and of our love for the sea. Also, I wanted to have something blue to go with the tiles of the old fireplace we have in the bathroom.
I discovered Mapiful on Instagram. I liked the simple Scandinavian style of their map posters! To prepare my Mapiful poster it was very easy! I just had to chose the geographical zone I wanted: in my case the Solent but you take choose a vacation spot your like, your region, your home town, the place where you met your husband (;-)), a travel destination you love… etc! You can select a city/a village, a region, a country, etc! It doesn’t matter! You can zoom as much as you want on the map! Then, you choose the font color, the layout, the style. We opted for the simplest font and then we chose the size we needed (50cmx70cm) ; then, we chose the colour blue, which evokes water and goes with our Delft tiles!
I am really happy with the result, of the quality of the print and the paper. I already had a silver picture frame I used as I think they go well together. And I thinking about ordering another map print celebrating my home town: Paris!!
If you too are tempted by a custom map poster, you can start creating your print on Mapiful’s website and here is a coupon code to benefit from -10% : MAPILOVE
I wish you beautiful creations!
I find the poster very calming and I like the personal touch it adds. A unique “piece of art” for our new home!
Now, I think it’s time for a bath! How do you like our new poster?
